Return to Jogja is the album of Ethnic music composed by Sha'aban Yahya. The album recorded at 1992 and enjoyed not just in Indonesia. This album has been gone International with traditional java music which composed with modern instrument.
This music instrument came to notice most coincidently. This music make us knew javanese music from all kinds of perspectives. It's an item that touched not only musical interest, but also emotions. It is story and translation touched the soul.
Return to Jogja, give us diferent section and with repetitive themes of hope, despair, romantic memory. Very gamelan like synthesiser sounds are between New Age and a emotionally involved Kraftwerk version of gamelan sounds. A same theme has been repeated in several versions and with beautiful multi-layers. Refreshing, meditative and moving. Absolutely recommended and deserved to be recognised internationally.
