Yogyakarta govt expected that foreign tourist number who visit in Yogyakarta will increase 10% then last year. At 1009, Yogyakarta visited 160,000 foreign tourist. Hence, it will begin offering tax holidays, as already implemented in Jakarta and Bali. |

Prambanan temple is one of Indonesia cultural heritage which become international destination. Prambanan Located about 20 kms east of Yogya is extraordinary Hindu temple in Indonesia, constructed in the tenth century during the reigns of two kings namely Rakai Pikatan and Rakai Balitung. Soaring up to 47 meters (5 meters higher than Borobudur temple), the foundation of this temple has fulfilled the desire of the founder to show Hindu triumph in Java Island. The temple was established in 9th Century (almost at the same time as Borobudur temple) with the height of 149 m2. Rising above the centre of the last of these concentric squares are three temples decorated with reliefs illustrating the epic of the Ramayana, dedicated to the three great Hindu divinities (Shiva, Vishnu and Brahma) and three temples dedicated to the animals who serve them. Prambanan listed by Unnesco as International Heritage. |

The figure, however, has seen a steady increase from almost no visitors following the 2002 Bali bombing to some 120,000 in 2006.
The same year, some two million domestic tourists visited Yogyakarta, although this figure is about 40 percent of the “golden years” — preceding the downfall of then president Soeharto in 1998. |
