Jakarta International Jazz Festival will be held in Jakarta on 5 throug 7 March 2010. Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival (JJF) is one of the largest jazz festivals in the world.Serious jazz twists will be performed by renowned musicians such as Hubert Laws, Randy Brecker and Bill Evans accompanied by Steve Lukather (guitarist of Toto), renowned blues guitarist Robben Ford and Darry Jones (bassist of The Rolling Stones), George Duke, Christian McBride, David Murray, Carl Allen, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Roy Hargrove.
Java Jazz Festival will surely highlight the fact that Jakarta has become a city of music festivals. In 2010, the Festival, will be relocated to Jakarta International Expo, previously housed at Jakarta Convention Center. Music enthusiasts from Indonesia's neighboring countries even began purchasing the festival's tickets months before. This showcases that Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival's motto “Bringing the World to Indonesia”, is not just a motto, but also an actualization. Java Festival Production has united various nations of the world through the language of jazz. The event moving to Jakarta International Expo for over a hundred top line up musicians from many parts of the world, among few: Arturo O’Farril, Breakestra, Christian Mc Bride, Eric Benet and David Murray Black Saint Quartet. The organizer is also currently negotiating with other famous names like Santana, Michael Buble, Sade and Stevie Wonder. So keep your fingers crossed and the music flowing. The world's best jazz vocal group, The Manhattan Transfer, is also due to return for their second year at the Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival. For those preferring a more subtle jazz take, do not miss Bob James, Michael Paulo, Eric Marienthal, Everette Harp, Chieli Minucci, Mindy Abair, Jessy J, Lee Ritenour, Karen Briggs and Breakestra. The Cuban Jazz, Latin Jazz and Brazilian Jazz numbers performed by Arturo O'Farril, Adonis Puentes, Bryan Lynch Latin Jazz Quartet, Emilio Santiago's pristine voice, Ivan Lins and Hendrik Meurkens Samba Jazz Quartet are set to woo the audience with their sexy stylings. The main highlight for festival goers will be captivating performances by John Legend, Eric Benet, Kenneth "Babyface" Edmonds, Toni Braxton, Roberta Gambarini, Rufus featuring Sly Stone and Jane Monheit. In addition to bringing along her latest find "Due Voci", for the special project to be featured at AXIS Jakarta International Java Jazz Festival 2010, renowned performer and song writer Diane Warren will also be collaborating with a number of Indonesian and international artists to sing her hits. Also to debut at the Festival is 21-year-old Griffith Frank, best described as a combination between Josh Groban and Andrea Bocelli (voice-wise), with his 3-octave-range. For the sixth time, the Java Jazz Festival (JJF) 2010 will be held in Jakarta, next March 2010. Location was moved to provide a bigger place. JJF 2010 will set total 20 stages and now located at Pekan Raya Jakarta (PRJ) Kemayoran. Previously, the concert always takes place at the Jakarta Convention Center. Because the number of audience increased in 2009, the place was enlarged. This brings a challenge for JJF 2010 to serve something new. The organizers ensure the festival's atmosphere will be felt in the new place. Of course line-up will be set up strong to compensate.
