Jakarta is not just Indonesian capital city with many industry and most populated city in Indonesia. Jakarta also comfortable for tourism. There are a lot of International tourist destinations, some of them are the favorite ones, like Taman Impian Jaya Ancol (TIJA) and Taman Mini Indonesia Indah (TMII). But it does not mean the other tourist destinations like museums are not interesting to visit. Museum Fatahillah or Jakarta Historical Museum, have been 300 thousand visitor in 2009. The number is over the target of 130 thousand people. It is higher than the previous year`s number which was only 124 thousand people. The visitor claim,go to Museum not just holiday, it's also give good education for children, teenage and students. The increasing number showed people’s interest to choose educative tourist destinations like museums in Kota Tua. Many programs of the museum like exhibition, socialization and collections maintenance have made people come to museum. “The increasing number showed that people care to visit museums in Kota Tua, especially Jakarta historical Museum," said Dwi Martati, Head of section for Jakarta Historical Museum Collection and Maintenance. The museum has cheap ticket. Ticket for adults only cost Rp 2,000, for students and college students only Rp 1,000 and for children only Rp 600. Group visitor minimum 20 people will have cheaper ticket: adult Rp 1,500, student and college student Rp 750, and children Rp 500 The museum’s administration staff, Supriadi, said that the number of the visitor is increasing all the time. Previously, as many as 1,200 to 1,300 people visit the museum in a day; but it has increased to 2,000 to 2,200 people since last week. |
