Pasar Klewer is old market in Cenral Java, located in west gate of Keraton’s North Square, across Surakarta Great Mosque (Mesjid Agung Surakarta) Solo, Central Java. Most of Batik in Pasar Klewer is hand-made with lurik style and tenun ikat. There are hundreds of shops in market who jammed along narrow passageways. For best price you must ready to bargain. Beside Batik, you can find other traditional product as local jewelry, silver, leather puppets, basketry, tortoise-shell accessories, trinkets, brassware and other decorative items, and all kinds of antiques are local specialties. Souvenir and art objects are available in all major towns of Central Java, mostly in the downtown areas and popular market places or shopping centers.
