Trowulan temple, is located in Trowulan, Mojokerto, East Java - Indonesia. This site is the only city site of the Hindu-Budha classical age in Indonesia that can still be found. Prambanan temple is one of Indonesia cultural heritage which become international destination. Prambanan Located about 20 kms east of Yogya is extraordinary Hindu temple in Indonesia, constructed in the tenth century during the reigns of two kings namely Rakai Pikatan and Rakai Balitung. Soaring up to 47 meters (5 meters higher than Borobudur temple), the foundation of this temple has fulfilled the desire of the founder to show Hindu triumph in Java Island. The temple was established in 9th Century (almost at the same time as Borobudur temple) with the height of 149 m2. Former Indonesian president Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur has died at a Jakarta, December 30,2009 in Cipto Mangun Kusumo Hospital (RSCM) after a long illness. Gus dur has died at 6.45 p.m.
Several national figures like Mahfud MD, Alwi Shihab, Wimar Witular, Sri Mulyani, Muhaimin Iskandar and others paid a condolence call to RSCM. Gus Dur's corpse was carried to GUs Dur house in Ciganjur. He will be buried in Jombang, East Java.
Abdurrahman Wahid or Gus Dur, as he was widely known, had been in hospital for the past week.
He had been having dialysis treatment.
Gus Dur was Indonesia's first elected President after the fall of the military dictator Suharto.
The one-time leader of one of Indonesia's largest Muslim associations took office in 1999, but he was impeached and forced from office just two years later. Indonesia, New Year in tears |
